BJP has decided to nominate former Union Minister and party chief of Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) Upendra Kushwaha as a NDA candidate for one of the vacant seats of Rajya Sabha from Bihar.
President of Bihar BJP and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary announced this in Patna on Tuesday (2nd July 2024).
Talking to media persons Mr. Choudhary said Upendra Kushwaha will be the candidate from NDA for the upcoming Rajya Sabha bypolls in the state.
The RLM Chief Mr. Kushwaha expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other NDA leaders for ratifying his name for Rajya Sabha seat.
Two seats of Rajya Sabha from Bihar are vacant following the election of BJP leader Vivek Thakur and RJD leader Misa Bharati for Lok Sabha this year.
Mr. Kushwaha had lost the election from Karakat Lok Sabha seat in a multi corner contest.
