In Jammu and Kashmir, the Returning Officer for 4-Udhampur Parliamentary Constituency, Dr. Rakesh Minhas, presided over a crucial meeting today with representatives of different political parties, alongside key administrative officials, to discuss the scheduled for counting of Votes on June 4. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the primary agenda of the session was to review readiness for the process of vote counting and ensure its efficiency and transparency. During the meeting, Dr. Minhas stressed the importance of timely submission of details of counting agents by all political parties. This, he emphasized, is essential for the prompt issuance of identity cards to these agents, facilitating their smooth participation in the counting process. It was revealed that 18 halls at Government Degree College (Boys), Kathua have been earmarked for the counting of votes from all 18 assembly segments of Udhampur Parliamentary Constituency.
The counting process will commence with the tabulation of postal ballots, followed by the counting of EVM votes from the respective segments. Dr. Minhas reassured attendees that all necessary security measures and logistical arrangements are being meticulously planned and executed in adherence to the guidelines set forth by the Election Commission of India (ECI). This is to ensure a seamless and fair conduct of the vote counting process. He further appealed to all representatives of contesting candidates to submit the details of their counting agents no later than May 25th. This deadline is crucial for the efficient organization and execution of the vote counting procedures.
