Results have been declared for by-elections to seven assembly constituencies spread over six states. Bypolls to the assembly seats were held on Tuesday. The seats are Boxanagar and Dhanpur in Tripura, Dhupguri in West Bengal, Dumri in Jharkhand, Bageshwar in Uttarakhand, Puthuppally in Kerala and Ghosi in Uttar Pradesh.
In Tripura, both Boxanagar and Dhanpur Assesmbly seats have been wrested by BJP. Party candidate Taffajal Hossain won from Boxanagar while BJP's Bindu Debnath clinched the Dhanpur seat.
In West Bengal, the ruling Trinamool Congress candidate Nirmal Chandra Roy won the Dhupguri assembly seat in Jalpaiguri district.
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha candidate Bebi Devi has won Dumri assembly constituency in Jharkhand.
In Kerala, Chandy Oommen of Congress swept the bypoll to Puthupally seat.
In Uttarakhand, BJP's Parvati Das won from Bageshwar constituency.
In Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party's Sudhakar Singh has secured a victory in Ghosi seat.
