Repolling at eight polling stations in Arunachal West Parliamentary Constituency conducted peacefully

In Arunachal Pradesh, repolling at eight polling stations in the Arunachal West Parliamentary Constituency was conducted smoothly and peacefully today with a total voter turnout of 79.8 per cent. The repollings were held at one polling station each in Bameng and Nyapin Assembly constituencies, two in Rumgong and four in Nacho Assembly constituencies.

Earlier, the Election Commission of India had declared the polling held on the 19th of this month at these polling stations for Parliamentary and Assembly elections void and fixed the 24th of April as the date of the repoll. Simultaneous elections for the two parliamentary constituencies and the new Legislative Assembly of Arunachal Pradesh were held on the 19th of April in a single phase.
