Relief Operations in Flood-Hit Tripura: Over 700 Medical Camps, Financial Aid & Local Donations

In Tripura, the relief operation is gaining momentum with several organisations and individuals coming forward to lend a helping hand to the flood-ravaged people of the state.

 

The Sonamura subdivision of Sepahijala district is among the worst affected areas in the state due to floods. With the state government cognizant of the outbreak of diarrhoea, typhoid and other waterborne diseases, medical camps are being conducted at the relief camps. So far, over 700 medical camps have been conducted by the state health department across Tripura. In a medical camp held at Durlavnagar relief camp, people were diagnosed with fever, cold and cough. The doctors said that there is a possibility of an outbreak of waterborne diseases, so necessary medical checkups are being done.

 

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced that his state would provide financial assistance of 20 crore rupees to Tripura. Besides,  some medical professionals and voluntary organisations have also been performing altruistic duty towards those who have been affected.   

  

Chief Minister Manik Saha handed over a cheque for his one month’s salary to the CM Relief Fund. Lok Sabha MP from Tripura West Biplab Kumar Deb also announced that he will donate One crore rupees in the state’s effort towards combating floods.
