In a major relief from the ongoing heat wave, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heatwave conditions to abate in pockets of North-West and East India from today. Talking to Akashwani News, IMD scientist Soma Sen Roy said that under the Western Disturbance parts of Punjab and Haryana will cool down today with the possibility of thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, Dr Roy said that heavy to very heavy rainfall will continue over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and North East India during the next 2-3 days.
