Relief and rescue operations going on in flood-affected areas of Punjab

The relief and rescue operations are going on in the flood-affected areas of Punjab with the help of NDRF and other state agencies. In the last 24 hours, there has been a slight decrease in the rainfall in various districts, but the water level of various dams of the state has remained unchanged.
 
In TarnTaran district, 1,49,000 cusecs of water is being released downstream from the Harike headworks, which is likely to further marooned the border villages of Ferozepur. Areas of Muthian Wali village in TarnTaran district are also reported to be marooned in flood water. The work of bridging the breach in Dhusi bandh in Ghaduyan area of the district is going on a war footing and about fifty percent of the work has been completed with the help of local people. The district authorities have also asked the people to keep a constant vigil in the Dhusi bandh area so that immediate steps can be taken in case of any emergency.
