Real Lona FC emerged as the champions of the Kargil District Football League-2024, defeating Shaheen Saliskote FC in a thrilling final held at the Astro Turf in Kurbathang, Kargil, Ladakh. The league, organized by the Kargil Football Association with support from the Ladakh Football Association, concluded with an impressive closing ceremony.

The Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) of LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, and Member of Parliament (MP) Ladakh, Mohmad Haneefa, were the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour, respectively, at the event.

Congratulating the winning team, Real Lona FC, and the runners-up, Shaheen FC from Saliskote, Dr. Akhoon emphasized the ongoing efforts of the Hill Council to enhance sports infrastructure in Ladakh, noting the importance of providing essential equipment to deserving athletes across various sports.

Dr. Akhoon encouraged the youth to view sports not only as a recreational activity but also as a potential career path. He praised the talent of Ladakhi youth, expressing confidence in their ability to compete at international levels.

The closing ceremony concluded with a renewed commitment from both the CEC and MP Ladakh to continue fostering sports in the region, ensuring that the youth of Ladakh have the resources and opportunities to excel on national and international stages.
