Reserve Bank of India has set up RBI Digital Innovation Pavilion at hall number three at Pragati Maidan complex to showcase its digital initiatives to the delegates of G20 countries. At the pavilion five digital initiatives have been showcased.
Talking to Akashwani News about these initiatives Executive Director of RBI Ajay Kumar Choudhary said, Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) will be showcased to the delegates. He said, users can download the wallet and use this for any transaction. He said, CBDC wallet is interoperable with the UPI.
Apart from this, Digital Payment Initiatives UPI One World, Rupay On The Go, Bharat Bill Payment System, and Public Tech Platform for frictionless credit have also been displayed for the visitors. Explaining these initiatives to Akashwani News, Executive Director of RBI Vivek Deep said, India has demonstrated several innovative measures taken in the field of Digital Public Infrastructure at the pavilion. He said, the aim of the pavilion is to give live experience to delegates about the country’s UPI system.
Public Tech Platform for frictionless credit ease the process of sanctioning and disbursement of loans to the lenders by integrating all the stakeholders at one platform. Through UPI One World, users will be on boarded to UPI without having a bank account in India and they will benefit in the process to have first-hand experience of breezing payments through UPI. RuPay On The Go initiative allows customers to carry out contactless payment transactions through accessories they wear like watch, ring, key chain. Bharat Bill Payment System facilitates cross border bill payment.
