In Ranchi, polling will be held in the first phase of the Jharkhand Assembly Elections on November 13th. In terms of area, this constituency is the smallest in the state.
All eyes are on the prestigious state capital, Ranchi, assembly seat. 18 candidates, including 10 independent candidates, are in the fray from this seat. But the main contest is between CP Singh of the BJP and Mahua Maji of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JJMM). BJP candidate CP Singh has won six times from this seat. JMM has pitted Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji against CP Singh. In the 2019 assembly elections, Maji gave a tough contest to CP Singh. Mahtab Alam of AIMIM is trying to make the contest triangular. All parties are raising issues of development as well as the law and order of Ranchi.
