Ram Navami is being celebrated with religious fervor and enthusiasm in different parts of the country today. The festival marks the birth of Lord Rama, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Ram Navami is celebrated on the ninth day of the Chaitra month. Prior to Ram Navami, Hindus observe a fast for nine days (Navratri) leading up to the festival.
In Ayodhya, people are celebrating Ram Navami with enthusiasm. Special rituals are being performed at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple on the occasion of Ram Navami in Ramnagari.
Akashvani correspondent reports, in Ayodhya, the joy of Ramnavami is visible everywhere. Ramnagari resonates with the chant of Jai Shri Ram. Devotees from all over the world have reached the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya to have darshan of Ramlala on Ramnavami.
On the occasion of Ram Navami, the rays of the sun applied tilak on the forehead of Ramlala at 12:00 noon in the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple, this scene lasted for about 4 minutes. This historic moment was carried out by a team of experts and it was broadcast live.
For the first time, water from the Saryu river is being sprayed through drones on the devotees who have reached Ayodhya in large numbers.
To protect the devotees from the heat, temporary camps have been set up on Rampath and drinking water has been arranged at 243 places. This time on Ram Navami, more than 2 lakh lamps will be lit in Ayodhya, which will be illuminated at Pakka Ghat and Ram’s Paidi in front of Ram Katha Park.
In view of the huge crowd of devotees, the administration has made strict security arrangements in the entire district.
President Droupadi Murmu has wished all countrymen on the holy festival of Ram Navami. In a social media post, she emphasized the values of religion, justice, and duty that the festival represents.
The President highlighted the concept of Ram Rajya, the ideal model of governance that Lord Ram established, which is revered for its principles of justice, welfare, and prosperity for all citizens. she also called upon the countrymen to take a pledge to work together for the creation of a developed India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted the people on the occasion of Ram Navami. In a social media post, he said, the blessings of Prabhu Shri Ram will always remain upon us and guide us in all our endeavours. Mr. Modi also expressed his anticipation for today’s visit to Rameshwaram.
In Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have extended their warm greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami.
In his message, the Lieutenant Governor said that Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram embodies righteousness, justice, compassion, sacrifice, and humility. He expressed the hope that this festive occasion would inspire everyone to follow the ideals and values of Shri Ram’s life. He also prayed to Prabhu Shri Ram to bestow his blessings upon all for years to come.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also conveyed his heartfelt greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on this auspicious occasion. In his message, the Chief Minister described Shri Ram as the embodiment of righteousness, good conduct, and virtue.
He emphasized that as an ideal king and ruler, Shri Ram continues to rule the hearts of people through the ages, symbolizing humility, justice, and high moral values.
