In Rajasthan, the first result for the Lok Sabha election has gone in favour of BJP. The party candidate Manju Sharma defeated her nearest congress rival by a margin of over 3 lakh votes in Jaipur.
According to latest trend, BJP is leading in 13 seats, Congress is 8 seats and CPI(M), RLTP and Bharat Adivasi Party are leading in one seat each.
The polling was held for 25 Parliamentary Constituencies. Among the 266 contestants in the race prominent candidates include Arjun Ram Meghwal, Om Birla, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Jyoti Mirdha and Kailash Choudhary are from BJP, Indian National Congress leader Devendra Jhajharia and Rashtriya Loktantrik Party leader Hanuman Beniwal.
In Jaipur Rural constituency, there is a close fight between BJP candidate Rao Rajendra Singh and Anil Chopra of Congress.
In Kota Constituency BJP candidate Om Birla is leading more than 39 thousand votes against congress rival Prahlad Gunjal.
