The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has concluded a month-long pan-India campaign in last month to enhance railway security. The drive targeted three focus areas consisting of crackdown on receivers of stolen railway property, prevention or detection of passenger crimes using digital footprint and CCTV footage, and efficient disposal of case properties. The drive resulted in arrests, recovery of stolen property, and swift justice. During the drive, RPF apprehended 90 Receivers of stolen railway property and registered 80 cases with the recovery of stolen railway property worth 5.7 lakh rupees. It has also detected 493 cases and arrested 484 accused involved in the crime of theft of passenger belongings, robbery, crime against women and those involved in the illegal selling of railway tickets. During the period, 426 numbers of case property were disposed as well.
