Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today said the INDIA alliance will be the ‘voice of farmers’ and work to protect their interests. Addressing a farmers’ rally in Maharashtra’s Nashik district as part of the Congress’ ongoing ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’, Mr. Gandhi promised loan waiver, restructuring of crop insurance schemes, favourable export import policies and effort to exclude agriculture from GST.

The rally was also attended by NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar and Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut. Addressing the farmers, Mr. Pawar accused the Central Government of being apathetic to the plight of farmers and the Agriculture sector.
