The opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi concluded his one-day visit to Manipur. He met with violence-affected families taking shelter in different relief camps in the State.
The Congress leader also addressed media persons this evening in Imphal and appealed to the people of Manipur to stop violence and live peacefully together. He said that his visit to Manipur is not politically motivated and he visited the State to share the grief and pain of the affected families. He also assured that he will try hard to bring an amicable solution to the violence in the State.
Mr. Gandhi also met the Governor of Manipur Sushri Anusuiya Uikey and discussed the situation in Manipur. The former CM and Congress Legislative Party Chief of the State O. Ibobi Singh, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee President K. Meghachandra, Congress MPs, Manipur State Security Advisor present in the meeting.

Soon after he reached Jiribam this morning, Rahul Gandhi visited relief camps in Jiribam and left for Imphal. He visited relief camps in Churachandpur and Bishnupur and interacted with inmates of relief camps in his visit.
