Rahul Gandhi Calls for New Politics of Love and Affection at Bharat Summit in Hyderabad

Opposition Leader in the Lok Sabha and Congress senior leader Rahul Gandhi called for a new order of politics, which can counter anger, fear and hatred with love and affection by understanding the people’s issues in the country and in the rest of the world. He was addressing the plenary session at the ongoing Bharat Summit being held in Hyderabad. Calling for a global progressive movement across the globe, he said, the democratic politics fundamentally changed during the past few decades and a new type of politics has to be constructed. Sharing experiences from his Padayatra held from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, he said people’s issues have to be heard. He stressed the need to regain the democratic spaces which were being diminished.

Earlier, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said the government’s mantra is fulfilling the dreams of people of all sections. Stating that youth, women, and farmers are the key stakeholders for the Government in the state, he explained various measures, programmes and schemes being implemented in the state for various sections.  He said the BC census and SC sub-classification have been implemented as part of the Congress vision for social justice.

Earlier, the Bharat Summit called for an urgent and equitable climate action on the second day of deliberations. Select climate change champions have taken part in the session on ‘Accelerating Climate Justice’, on the 2nd day of the summit. In another panel discussion, the summit discussed pluralism, diversity and respect for overcoming polarisation. A Hyderabad declaration will be announced later at the summit.
