Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai today said that the amazing strength and ability of the Rapid Action Force (RAF) in handling law and order situations makes it a superior force.
Addressing RAF’s 31st Raising Day programme in New Delhi, the Minister said the RAF is highly adept due to rigorous training from domestic and international mentors on crowd and riot control. He said that the RAF showed its strength while tackling incidents of violence in Jammu and Kashmir, Manipur, and Nuh. He added that the RAF also aids internationally through United Nations UN Peacekeeping Missions in Cambodia, Liberia, and Haiti. The Minister said that by sending the UN’s first women contingent to Liberia, the RAF showcased the strength of women globally. The Minister also said that when trained like NDRF, RAF can help in rescue missions in challenging situations that demand crowd control.
