Punjab received heavy monsoon rain in many parts but several areas very little rain recorded

In Punjab, many parts have received heavy monsoon rain this year but still there are several other areas where very little rain has been recorded. So far in the state 341 millimeters of rain has been recorded from 1st June to 25th August. According to the Meteorological Department, now the weather has started to become completely dry in the state.

A report:

Monsoon in Punjab is now nearing its end and during the past two and a half months Malwa region received the least amount of monsoon rainfall. Moga, Barnala, Shri Muktsar Sahib, Bathinda, Sangrur, Fazilka and Mansa districts received less rainfall by 30 to 66 percent while 8 districts recorded excess rainfall ranging from 20 to 87 percent. Monsoon winds from the east have been active in most of the upper northern parts of the state since the beginning of the season and the districts bordering the hilly areas of Majha and Doaba have recorded higher rainfall due to maximum humidity this time.  Shishu Sharma Shantal, Akashvani News, Jalandhar.
