Punjab Police has apprehended two gangsters after a brief encounter in Jalandhar today. They were wanted in the killing of Jammu and Kashmir Police Sub Inspector Deepak Sharma in April last year.
State Police Chief Gaurav Yadav, while informing through a social media post, said that both were associates of a USA-based gang. Two sophisticated weapons have been recovered from their possession.
In another operation, Ferozepur Police have arrested a smuggler-cum-gangster from Ferozepur and have recovered 3 sophisticated weapons and narcotics from his possession. According to police sources, weapons include 3 pistols and one pump-action gun with 141 assorted cartridges and heroin. Preliminary investigation reveals that weapons were sourced from across the border to carry on terror and criminal activities in Punjab. The investigation is on.
