In Punjab, large-scale ‘Night Domination’ exercises are being carried out across the state in view of the upcoming Vaisakhi festival to instill a sense of security amongst the public.
Punjab’s Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, led the Night Domination drive along with many senior officers in Jalandhar, Amritsar and at various other places, late last night. Talking to reporters, the DGP cautioned that, being a border state, Punjab remains vulnerable to attempts by external agencies like Pakistan’s ISI to disrupt its peace and harmony. He assured that the police are taking all necessary measures to ensure public safety.
On multiple incidents of grenade attacks in the state and a recent attack on a BJP leader’s residence in Jalandhar, Mr Yadav said major operation is underway to apprehend those involved in such anti-national activities.
