In Punjab, over 3000 panchayats across the state have passed resolutions to support the Punjab Police’s ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ campaign.

Special DGP, Law and Order, Arpit Shukla said 3022 panchayats have passed resolutions with a pledge to combat drug abuse, support rehabilitation efforts, and foster stronger police-public partnerships to root out the scourge of drugs from Punjab.

Our Jalandhar Correspondent reports that besides conducting search operations across the state to find drug peddlers and arresting hundreds involved since the start of the campaign on March 1st, Punjab Police has also carried out search operations in various jails in the state to check any illegal activities related to the supply of drugs. Two senior officers along with four other jail officials are already under detention on charges of criminal conspiracy and drug trafficking within the jails.
