In Punjab, the rain and storm hit normal life in many places today morning. The Meteorological Department has also issued a yellow alert warning of heavy rainfall with thunderstorms at many places in the Majha and Doaba regions of the State for the next 24 hours.
 
Akashvani correspondent reports that in many cities of Punjab including Jalandhar, the morning began like other normal days, but around 7 o'clock suddenly thick black clouds covered the sky showing night view and heavy rain lasted for about an hour. This rain submerged several parts of the city, including major roads of Jalandhar in water affecting normal life. A strong wind uprooted hoardings and boards on the roadsides at several places. A huge tree fell on the Delhi-Amritsar rail track near Goraya town of Jalandhar district affecting rail traffic for some time.
