In Punjab, as part of Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), the State Health Department has done 341 heart surgeries on children suffering from congenital heart disease. Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister, Dr Balbir Singh said that this initiative is aimed at safeguarding the health of its youngest citizens and their healthier future. He said Rs 3.52 crore has been spent on these life-saving procedures, performed at prestigious empanelled hospitals across the state during the financial year 2024-25.
