CPI(M) polit bureau member Dr Ashok Dhawale today said progressive parties in the state will hold a convention in Nashik on Wednesday to strengthen their strategies for the upcoming assembly elections. He said the representatives of various parties like the Peasants and Workers Party, Samajwadi Party, Communist Party of India, Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Satyashodhak Community Party will attend the state-level convention.
He said the decision was reached in a meeting held yesterday at the CPI office in Mumbai where leaders from various parties came together to discuss their strategies ahead of the assembly polls, expected to be held next month. He added the leaders also discussed the plan to adopt an inclusive approach for seat adjustments among all progressive factions under the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA-INDIA bloc).
