Haryana Food and Supplies Department has said that the procurement of paddy and millet is going on smoothly in various mandis. Till now 43 lakh 2 thousand 418 tonnes of paddy and 4 lakh 17 thousand 771 tonnes of millet have been procured at the minimum support price.
An official spokesperson said that till now a total of 45 lakh 50 thousand 473 tonnes of paddy and 4 lakh 30 thousand 193 tonnes of millet has arrived in various mandis so far. He said that the highest arrival of 9 lakh 62 thousand 575 tonnes of paddy has been recorded in the mandis of Kurukshetra district, while Karnal district is in second place with the arrival of 8 lakh 8 thousand 728 tonnes of paddy. Whereas, the maximum quantity of 1 lakh 06 thousand 732 tonnes of millet has arrived in various mandis of Mahendragarh district. Similarly, 95 thousand 130 tonnes of millet have arrived in various mandis of the Rewari district. The spokesperson said that till now, Rs 8 thousand 84 crore for paddy and Rs 847 crore for millet have been paid to the farmers.
