Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that it is necessary to make cities like Mumbai and Thane to be future-ready to achieve the goal of Viksit Bharat. While inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for various projects worth over 32,800 crore rupees in Thane district of Maharashtra, he said every decision, resolution and dream of the Union Government is dedicated to Viksit Bharat . Mr. Modi emphasized that the developmental projects are changing the face of Mumbai and will immensely benefit the people. He added that these projects will also create new employment opportunities along with the growth of industries. He criticised the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi for stalling the projects when their coalition was in power.
Prime Minister earlier today visited Washim where he disbursed PM Kisan Samman Nidhi to 9.5 crore farmers of the country and initiated several development projects. He informed that Mumbai MMR projects worth more than 30,000 crore rupees have been initiated today and the foundation stone for Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project worth more than 12,000 crore rupees has been laid today. The Prime Minister announced that the aqua line metro from Mumbai’s Aarey to BKC was also starting off today.
He also laid the foundation stone for Phase-1 of the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) project, valued at around 2,550 crore rupees, as well as a high-rise administrative building for the Thane Municipal Corporation, to be constructed at a cost of 700 crore rupees. The Prime Minister also inaugurated the Banjara Virasat Museum in Poharadevi, Washim, showcasing the rich heritage of the Banjara community.
Prime Minister remarked that the Central Government has conferred Classical Language status to Marathi and emphasized that it is not just respect towards Maharashtra and the Marathi language but an ode to the tradition which gave India a rich culture of knowledge, philosophy, spirituality and literature. Governor of Maharashtra C P Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar were also present on this occasion.
