A press conference commemorating the 3rd anniversary of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 was organised at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Gangtok, Sikkim today, where principal Bikas Kumar Murmu informed about salient features of the policy and its implementation in Kendriya Vidyalayas.

Mr. Murmu informed that NEP 2020, with its vision to transform India into a vibrant knowledge society and global knowledge superpower through broad-based, flexible, multidisciplinary education suited to 21st-century needs, has become the touchstone for every school under the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. Mr. Murmu informed about initiatives on infrastructure upgradation, community outreach, access to education for all, holistic development, social well-being, the National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy of NEP 2020, involving parents as stakeholders, and a pedagogical shift and teachers’ training, besides listing out achievements of the school.
