President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi today paid homage to the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh. In a social media post, President Murmu recalled the sacrifice made by freedom fighters on this day in 1919, stating that their sacrifice strengthened the flow of the country’s freedom struggle. She further expressed confidence that, inspired by those immortal martyrs, all countrymen will continue to contribute to India’s progress with their whole body, mind, and wealth.
Meanwhile, Vice President Dhankhar said that the unmatched sacrifice of valiant souls in the face of oppression remains etched in the annals of our freedom struggle. He added that Bharat shall forever remain indebted to their courage. Prime Minister Modi said that the coming generations will always remember the martyr’s indomitable spirit. He described the incident as a dark chapter in our nation’s history. Mr. Modi added that their sacrifice became a major turning point in India’s freedom struggle.
