The auspicious festival of Dussehra is being celebrated nationwide today with grandeur and enthusiasm. The festival is celebrated to mark the triumph of good over evil. It is believed that Lord Rama killed Ravan on this day. With this belief, the culture of burning the effigies of Ravan, Kumbhkaran and Meghnad has begun.
President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the Dussehra programme organised by the Shri Dharmik Leela Committee at Lal Quila Maidan in Delhi.
Meanwhile, the Sri Ram Lila Society has claimed to have erected India’s tallest Ravan effigy of 211 feet at Dwarka Sector 10 in Delhi. According to the Ram Lila Society, it took 4 months to prepare and install this structure.
