President Droupadi Murmu has extended condolences at the demise of renowned physicist Rohini Madhusudan Godbole.

The President acknowledged Godbole’s significant contributions and said, the physicist dedicated her life to increasing women’s participation in the field of science and inspiring young girls to become scientists.

In recognition of her work, Rohini Godbole was awarded the Padma Shri in 2019 for her contributions to Science and Engineering.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed grief at the demise of noted physicist Rohini Godbole.

Mr Modi hailed her as a pioneering scientist and innovator, who was a strong votary of more women in the world of science. He added that Rohini Godbole’s academic efforts will continue to guide the coming generations.
