President Droupadi Murmu has said that through spirituality, solutions can be found not only for personal life but also for many issues related to society and mother earth. The President was addressing the inaugural session of the Global Summit on Spirituality for a Clean and Healthy Society in Rajasthan today. The summit has been organised by Brahma Kumari Sansthan at Abu Road.
President Murmu said that in times when unrest is prevailing in many parts of the world and human values are declining, the importance of peace and unity has increased even more. She said today the world is grappling with the adverse effects of global warming and environmental pollution. She said, At such harsh times, it is our duty to make all possible efforts to face these challenges. She called upon everyone to join the campaign of the Government of India to plant trees in the name of Mother.
Talking about cleanliness, the president said it is given importance in all traditions. She said our ancestors had emphasised the purity of food for the purity of conscience. Referring to the government’s promotion of natural farming, she said, this will provide clean food.
The programme was also addressed by the Governor of Rajasthan, Haribhau Bagde.
