President Droupadi Murmu, who completed one year in office on Tuesday, arrived in Bhubaneswar this evening on a 3-day visit to her home state Odisha. Odisha Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Chief Justice of Odisha High Court Justice S Muralidhar and senior state government officials welcomed the President at the Biju Patnaik International Airport. The President, breaking the protocol, got down from her car to greet the tribal folk dancers who gathered in huge numbers at the airport to greet her.
After arriving at the Raj Bhawan, she interacted with the beneficiary medical students sponsored by ATUT-BANDHAN family.
Smt Murmu is scheduled to grace the valedictory function of 75th year celebration of the High Court of Odisha at Cuttack tomorrow, besides visiting the birthplace of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose in Cuttack. She will also address the annual function of SCB Medical College and Hospital and grace the convocation of National Law University at Cuttack.
The president will interact with Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups and attend few other programmes organised by the Prajapita Bhahma Kumaris Iswariya Vishwa Vidyalaya on Thursday at Bhubaneswar.
Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the visit of the President to Odisha.
