President Murmu addresses golden jubilee celebration of Shri Warana Women Co operative Group at Warananagar, Kolhapur

President Droupadi Murmu has said that an organisation that works perfectly in the field of industry and education through cooperation makes a great contribution to the development of the country. She was speaking at the golden jubilee ceremony of Shree Varana Mahila Sahakari Multi-Industry Group at Warananagar in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, today. Governor of Maharashtra C. P. Radhakrishnan, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister of State Raksha Khadse, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

 

Praising the work of the founder of the group Tatyasaheb Kore, the president said that Tatyasaheb believed in the potential of women to contribute in the cooperative sector. Asserting that women are ahead in all areas like education, health, and finance Smt. Murmu expressed satisfaction that Warana Group is making all efforts to take forward this organising power of women.

 

On the occasion, Dy. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that six decades ago, Tatyasaheb Kore realised that there will be no development if the participation of women in development is not increased. Warna Group is having a turnover of 3000 crores through cooperatives, he informed.

 

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Vinay Kore referred to the President as a symbol of Stree Shakti and thanked her for attending the golden jubilee to energise the entrepreneurial women of Warana Group.
