In the US, President-elect Donald Trump has nominated South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem as his Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, which controls immigration-related agencies. Several media outlets reported that Noem’s nomination would complete the trio of positions impacting Trump’s high-priority immigration agenda. There has been no official notification yet.
Noem was reported to have been on Trump’s shortlist of Vice President candidates. When confirmed by the Senate, she will work with Border Czar Tom Homan and Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller on immigration matters.
