Trump praised Hoekstra for his exceptional work as the United States Ambassador to the Netherlands during his first term, expressing confidence that Hoekstra will continue to represent American interests effectively in his new position. Regarding Whitaker, Trump stated that he would work to advance and defend US interests at NATO.
Earlier, Trump selected former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee as Ambassador to Israel and named real estate investor and philanthropist Steven C. Witkoff as Special Envoy to the Middle East.
