President Droupadi Murmu has said that the latest medical techniques should be used for the welfare of people living in remote areas. Speaking at the convocations of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Raipur today, the President called upon the students to give priority to serving the underprivileged classes. The President said that during the last decade, many steps have been taken to provide universal health coverage to the country’s citizens. The President also attended the convocations of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) at Raipur.
The president awarded gold medals and degrees to the students. Chhattisgarh Governor Ramen Deka and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai were also present on the occasion. The President released the 9th installment of the “Mahtari Vandan Yojana” of the Chhattisgarh Government to 70 lakh women in a program held at Purkhauti Muktangan in Naya Raipur this evening. On this occasion, President Murmu also interacted with the beneficiaries of the scheme as well as people from the tribal community. On the last day of her two-day visit to Chhattisgarh tomorrow, the President will attend the convocations of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhilai and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Memorial Health Science and AYUSH University in Nava Raipur.
