President Droupadi Murmu today addressed the Global Summit on the theme ‘Spirituality for Clean and Healthy Society’ at Mount Abu in Rajasthan. Speaking at the event, the President called upon everyone to join the Central government’s tree-plantation campaign, Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam.
President Murmu said, people must also confront the realities of global warming and environmental pollution and urged them to take decisive action. She expressed happiness over the government’s encouragement to natural farming by using natural fertilizers instead of chemical fertilizers.
The President also said that people of tribal society should educate their children and give them opportunities to move forward and spread their wings. She said that the government is with the tribal society. She said this while addressing the Adi Gaurav Samman Samaroh at Mangarh Dham, Banswara in Rajasthan today.
The President was happy to note that the tribal youth of Rajasthan are bringing glory not only to their society but also to Rajasthan and India in sports competitions. She appreciated all the sportspersons of Rajasthan. The President said that the recently launched Dharti Aaba Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan aims to benefit more than five crore people of the tribal community. She expressed confidence that this campaign will become a powerful medium to increase the pride of the tribal society. She was happy to note that tribal students are benefiting from educational initiatives such as Eklavya Model Residential Schools, Adarsh Vidyalaya, Hostels and sports facilities.
