President Droupadi Murmu today attended a civic reception at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai, hosted in her honour by the Government of Maharashtra.
Union Minister of State Ramdas Athawale, Speaker of Maharashtra Assembly Rahul Narvekar, Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, President Droupadi Murmu said that Maharashtra has a rich history and culture. She added that the people of the State have preserved their rich heritage. She praised the saints of Maharashtra for their contribution to Indian society.
Speaking about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, President Smt Murmu said that he inspired us to live our lives with dignity and self-respect. She said, Mumbai is considered the financial capital of the country. She expressed confidence that Maharashtra will play a leading role in the development of the country during the Amritkal.
