Prasar Bharati, RailTel, and PlayboxTV have collaborated to launch the Freedom Plan on RailWire Broadband. Chief Executive Officer of Prasar Bharati, Gaurav Dwivedi, and Chairman and Managing Director of RailTel, Sanjai Kumar, unveiled the plan at an event in New Delhi yesterday. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Dwivedi said the WAVES OTT platform represents a transformative leap for Prasar Bharati as the nation embraces the digital revolution. It allows India to connect with its vast and diverse audience like never before. He emphasized that the collaboration aims to redefine digital engagement, bridge the gap between traditional broadcasting and modern streaming, and empower people with seamless connectivity and premium entertainment. Mr. Dwivedi said, Prasar Bharati is mandated by law to reach citizens and added that the public broadcaster has kept pace with technology by launching an OTT platform.

RailTel CMD Sanjai Kumar said, RailTel’s home internet service, RailWire, is focused on bringing affordable internet to underserved parts of the country. He said the collaboration aligns with India’s vision of becoming a knowledge economy by promoting digital literacy and ensuring every household can participate in the country’s digital transformation. The Freedom Plan is an OTT-bundled home internet plan offered by RailTel’s retail home internet service, RailWire. It provides high-speed internet at an affordable price to the masses and includes Prasar Bharati’s OTT platform WAVES, nine other premium OTT platforms, 30 Mbps high-speed internet, over 400 live TV channels, and more than 200 games.
