The first phase of polls in Odisha, a significant event in the democratic process, will take place tomorrow. This phase will witness voting in Kalahandi, Koraput, Nabarangpur, and Berhampur Lok Sabha seats and 28 assembly seats under it. The political landscape is heating up, with 37 candidates for four Lok Sabha seats and 243 candidates vying for 28 Assembly constituencies in the first phase.
Akashvani correspondent reports that out of the 147 Odisha Assembly seats, 28 assembly seats in the first phase are going to polls tomorrow. In this phase, 62 lakh 87 thousand voters will decide their representatives. Among the Assembly segments, Dharamgarh constituency in Kalahandi district has the highest number of about 2 lakh 62 thousand voters.
In contrast, the Laxmipur seat in the Koraput district has the lowest, with around 1 lakh 74 thousand voters. The highest number of 17 candidates are trying their luck from the Berhampur Assembly constituency in Ganjam district, while the lowest three candidates each are in the fray for Jharigaon, Nabarangpur, and Dabugaon constituencies.
