Political activities gaining momentum in Delhi as assembly poll schedule announced

Political activities are gaining momentum in Delhi with the announcement of the assembly poll schedule. The fight between the ruling Aam Aadmi Party and the opposition BJP has escalated on the issue of alleged lavish spending on Arvind Kejriwal’s residence as Delhi Chief Minister. The BJP has been continuously raising the issue to target the AAP Chief alleging that a Sheshmahal has been constructed by the then Chief Minister worth crores for himself during COVID-19. Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party has rejected the allegation. Party leaders Sanjay Singh and Saurabh Bharadwaj today marched to the Chief Minister’s residence to reject the claims of BJP. Talking to the media, Delhi Minister and AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj said the CM residence and the PM residence, both were constructed using taxpayers’ money and they should be shown to everyone through the media. He said the BJP is claiming that there is a swimming pool and a bar in the residence and they should be shown to the public through media.

 

On the other hand, BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi alleged that public money has been spent on all kinds of lavish facilities in the CM house. Briefing the media, he also objected to the conduct of AAP leaders while they were marching towards Delhi CM’s residence today. Mr Trivedi alleged that the AAP leaders misbehaved with government officials.

 

Meanwhile, Congress has promised cashless insurance of up to Rs 25 lakh for universal healthcare of people in the city if it comes to power. Briefing media in New Delhi, Senior party leader Ashok Gehlot said that his party has focused on providing health facilities wherever it has ruled.
