Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has said that policies should be made to focus on rural India so that the number of migrations could be reduced in the country. Addressing the Kisan Kumbh 2025 in New Delhi today, Mr Gadkari said policies should ensure the betterment of the farmers and weaker sections of the rural areas. He said that only 14 percent of the contribution of farmers and allied sectors is in the GDP, and people are migrating to cities.
Sharing his experience, the minister said that farmers should learn new technologies and become entrepreneurs. Mr Gadkari also urged farmers to exchange their skills and experience with each other and contribute to making India self-reliant.
