PM Vishwakarma Scheme recognises the need for continuous upskilling and reskilling in a rapidly changing world: Union Minister Sanjeev Kumar Balyan

Union Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Balyan said, the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, a brainchild of the visionary Prime Minister, shows the commitment of the government to empower the skilled workforce and propel India towards a brighter and more prosperous future.

Dr. Balyan said this during the nationwide launching programme of the PM Vishwakarma scheme at Kohima in Nagaland as the chief guest. He said, our nation's skill diversity is a treasure trove waiting to be unlocked. The PM Vishwakarma Scheme is the key to unlock this potential, the Minister added. The MoS said, the scheme recognises the need for continuous upskilling and reskilling in a rapidly changing world. He remarked, that in today's fast-paced global environment, where technology advances at an unprecedented rate, it is imperative that our workforce remains adaptable and well-prepared to seize emerging opportunities.

Dr. Balyan informed that through the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, the Government is providing avenues for skills development and entrepreneurship, fostering innovation and creativity, and ultimately ensuring a better livelihood for the citizens. He added that this programme offers a comprehensive package of benefits, including skill development, access to finance, technology adoption, market linkages, and social security.

Reminded by the immense potential that lies within our nation and in the region, Dr. Balyan also said Nagas have a history of making their own tools and equipment such as dao, speakers, necklaces, tattoos, weaving, traditional dolls, and others. He said, artisans from Nagaland under the Vishwakarma Scheme can avail the financial support for procuring better tools and methods which would help them in saving time and also improve the quality.

Stating that our skilled workforce, our rich cultural heritage, and our unwavering spirit are our greatest assets, the Minister urged each and everyone to explore the opportunities provided by the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. He noted that there is a place for all in this initiative be it an artisan, an entrepreneur, a young student, or a seasoned professional. The Minister further encouraged all to work together to build a stronger, more resilient, and prosperous India.

MLA and Advisor Labour, Employment & Skill Development Government of Nagaland, Moataoshi Longkumer said the  PM Vishwakarma scheme is custom made design for Nagaland that perfectly fits into the social and customary practices that have the potential to change the economic scenario of the State. On the occasion, products Made in Nagaland were also put on display.
