Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the Banjara Virasat Museum in Pohardevi at Washim in Maharashtra, celebrating the rich heritage of the Banjara community. The four-story museum has 13 galleries depicting the Banjara legacy through the portraits of Banjara community leaders and the Banjara movement. After his arrival in Washim Prime Minister also paid floral tribute to the memorials of Sant Sevalal Maharaj and Sant Ramrao Maharaj.
Sant Sevalal and Sant Ramrao Maharaj are the spiritual leaders of the Banjara community. The Prime Minister also performed darshan and pooja at Jagdamba Temple in Poharadevi in Washim. Prime Minister will be addressing a function at Washim for the launch of various initiatives related to the agricultural and animal husbandry sectors worth around 23,300 crore rupees. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, along with other dignitaries, are present on this occasion.
