Artisians can be entrepreneurs by taking benefits of Vishwakarma scheme says PM Modi

       

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today appealed to artisans to become entrepreneurs and businessmen by taking the benefits of the PM Vishwakarma scheme. Prime Minister was addressing a function on the anniversary of PM Vishwakarma Yojana at Swavalambai ground in Wardha.

 

The PM said that over 6.5 lakh beneficiaries were provided with the modern machinery and toolkits in order to increase the productivity of traditional occupation. He also informed about the benefits of loan scheme which provides a loan of 3 lakh rupees.  In the last one year, loans worth 1400 crore rupees disbursed to the beneficiaries. He also underlined that the beneficiaries of this scheme are mostly from the scheduled caste and scheduled tribes.

       

Prime Minister launched two schemes of the Government of Maharashtra which includes ‘Acharya Chanakya Skill Development Center” for free skill development training of youths and ‘Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Women Startup Scheme’ for helping women-led startups to become self-reliant.

       

During the program, PM lays the foundation of PM MITRA textile park which will be set up in Amravati district of West Vidarbha and will be spread across 1,000 hectares. This project is expected to create 100000 employment opportunities and will attract an investment over 10 thousand crores rupees.

       

To Mark the anniversary of PM Vishwakarma Yojana, Prime Minister unveiled commemorative stamp published by India Post. PM also released Digital ID cards and Digital Skill certificates to over 1 Lakh beneficiaries of PM Vishwakarma. Besides this, PM also released digital loan sanction letters to 75,000 beneficiaries.

       

Vishwakarma loan benefits to 18 beneficiaries of PM Vishwakarma scheme were distributed through cheques at the hands of Prime Minister at the venue.

       

The PM also took a walk through the theme pavilion where artisans products and works are displayed. PM also interacted with artisans.
