The Northeastern States receive long overdue attention from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and many first remarkables have happened in this region during the last 10 years, said Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman at IIT Guwahati today.
The Prime Minister prioritise the development of the Northeastern States and the Union Council of Ministers visited this region 850 times during the last 10 years, said the Union Finance Minister in her keynote address at IIT Guwahati as part of Viksit Bharat Ambassador Campus Dialogue.
Ms. Sitharaman said the North East has the potential for growth and the youths here are enthusiastic and energetic. The Prime Minister considers the NE States as India’s engine of growth aspiration and the Union Government is ensuring that the region benefits from every initiative of the Centre, added the Union Minister.
