PM Modi urges people to extend support to Har Ghar Tiranga campaign to bolster sense of patriotism

Har Ghar Tiranga campaign to bolster the sense of patriotism within citizens kicked off on Sunday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged everyone to take part in the Har Ghar Tiranga movement between 13th to 15th August. Appealing to people through social media platform X, Mr. Modi asked them to upload their photos with the Tiranga at harghartiranga.com. The Prime Minister said, the Tiranga symbolises the spirit of freedom and national unity. He said, every Indian has an emotional connect with the Tricolour and it inspires to work harder to further national progress. Over two crore 19 lakh people have already uploaded selfies with Tiranga so far.
 
The Prime Minister has also urged everyone to change the DP of their social media accounts, in the spirit of Har Ghar Tiranga movement. He asked people to extend support to this unique effort which will deepen the bond between the nation and the people.
 
The Union Culture Ministry said, everyone can take part in this campaign by uploading their selfie with the Tiranga. The Ministry said, the government is celebrating Har Ghar Tiranga from 13th to 15th August under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The aim of this campaign is to commemorate the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with the essence of collaborative participation and increased Jan Bhagidari. As part of this initiative, the Department of Posts is serving as the designated entity responsible for selling and distributing high-quality National Flags to the public.
 
Addressing a press conference in New Delhi yesterday, Culture Secretary Govind Mohan said the Postal Department has placed requisition for two crore 50 lakh flags this year and 55 lakh flags have already been sent out through post offices. He said, the Ministry of Textiles has already sent out one crore 30 lakh flags to States. Mr Mohan said, crores of flags are also being produced by Self Help Groups in states indicating a trend of AtmaNirbharta in flag manufacturing.
 
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged people to hoist tricolour at home to mark Independence Day. In the latest episode of Mann Ki Baat on Akashwani, Mr. Modi had called for continuing the Har Ghar Tiranga tradition which saw tremendous success and Jan Bhagidari last year.
