PM Modi launches railway projects worth over 85,000 Cr rupees from Ahmedabad in Gujarat; Also flags off 10 Vande Bharat trains

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation Stone and dedicated to the nation, a slew of Railway projects worth over 85,000 crore rupees in Ahmedabad this morning. The Prime Minister also flagged off ten new Vande Bharat trains including Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central, Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam, Mysuru- Dr. MGR Central (Chennai), Patna- Lucknow, New Jalpaiguri-Patna, Puri-Visakhapatnam, Lucknow – Dehradun, Kalaburagi – Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal Bengaluru, Ranchi-Varanasi, Khajuraho- Delhi (Nizamuddin). Mr. Modi also flagged off the extension of four existing Vande Bharat trains including the Ahmedabad-Jamnagar Vande Bharat which will be extended till Dwarka.

Speaking on occasion, the Prime Minister said, the development of the Indian railway has been one of the top priorities of the NDA government. He said, the Indian Railway which used to be a major victim of the political selfishness of the previous governments, has witnessed a massive transformation during the last ten years. Mr. Modi added that after coming to power, his government is tirelessly working on enhancing the rail network, modernising the rail infrastructure, increasing the facilities for passengers, and promoting the sale of Make In India Products on railway platforms. He also called Indian railways one of the powerful mediums for self-reliant India.

Calling India a young country, the Prime Minister said, the projects inaugurated today are for the present of the Indian youths and projects for which the foundation stones were laid, have come up with the guarantee of their bright future.

The Prime Minister also inaugurated the two sections of dedicated freight corridor and dedicated to the nation 51 Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminals, more than 1500 One Station One Product Stalls. During the programme, Mr. Modi also dedicated and laid the foundation stone for Petrochemical projects worth 20 thousand crores.

During his one-day visit to Gujarat, Mr. Modi also inaugurated the redeveloped Kochrab Ashram and launched the Master Plan of the Gandhi Ashram Memorial.
