Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam is a tribute to the power of Indian women. Addressing a public rally organized by the State BJP in Ahmedabad, Gujarat today, the Prime Minister said, his government is committed to the development of women in every sphere of life. He said it is the guarantee of his government to ensure the reservation for women in Loksabha and state assemblies.
The Prime Minister also recalled a series of initiatives taken by the Government of Gujarat including the Samras Panchayat initiative, Pani Panchayat, and Mission Mangalam to empower women in the economic and political sectors. Mr Modi said over 35 lakh women are associated with the dairy sector of Gujarat today.
The Nari Vandan programme was organized by State BJP to commend the Union Government for passing the historic Women Reservation bill in the parliament. Mr. Modi who arrived on a two-day visit to Gujarat today, will preside over a function marking the 20 years of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in Ahmedabad tomorrow. He will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth over 5200 crores in the tribal district Chhota Udepur tomorrow.
