Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 24 projects related to power, road, railway and water worth more than Rs 46,300 crore in Jaipur.
Mr. Modi today participated in the celebrations organised to mark the completion of one year of the Bhajan Lal Sharma government of Rajasthan. He inaugurated 9 projects worth more than Rs 11,000 crore, which include 7 projects of the Central Government and 2 projects of the State Government. He laid the foundation stone of 15 projects worth more than Rs 35,300 crore.
These projects also include the Parvati, Kalisindh, Chambal Link Project, which is important for Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. The MOA for this project was signed between Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan in the presence of the Prime Minister.
Addressing the event, the Prime Minister said that the Parvati, Kalisindh, Chambal Link Project will provide a permanent solution to the water problem in Rajasthan. He said that this project will not only boost investment but will also provide unlimited employment opportunities to the youth. He said that this project will accelerate the development of both Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
Mr. Modi said that during the tenure of Congress lead governments at the Centre, water disputes between states were never resolved, due to which the respective states have suffered a lot. But the BJP government at the Centre emphasizes on solutions instead of disputes. He said that other states should also learn a lesson from the water agreement between Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
Mr Modi said that water conservation is the need of the hour and every citizen of the country should contribute to it. The Prime Minister said that every drop of water should be used to quench the thirst of Mother Earth. He said that a large number of rainwater harvesting structures are being built with public participation in many states.
The Prime Minister said that historic work has been done in Rajasthan in the last one year. He said that the double-engine governments of BJP are becoming a symbol of good governance in the country. He said that whatever resolution the BJP takes, it fulfills it honestly.
This is the reason why BJP is getting public support in one state after another. He said that the people of the country have given the BJP an opportunity to serve by forming the government at the Centre for the third consecutive time after 60 years.
Governor of Rajasthan Haribhau Bagde, State Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Mohan Lal Yadav, Union Minister of Jal shakti C.R. Patil were also present in the program.
